Garden design & planting

Designed for life. Planted for the long term.

Biodiversity-led planting schemes that work with London's climate — resilient through dry summers, wet winters, and everything in between. Every garden we design is built to grow more beautiful with every passing year.

Planting that earns its place.

A planting scheme is more than a list of plants. It's a considered response to your soil, your light, your aspect, and the way you want to live in your garden. Prisca spends time understanding all of these before a single plant is specified.

Every scheme we produce is rooted in ecological thinking — choosing species that support pollinators, build healthy soil, and create genuine habitat. Beauty and biodiversity aren't in tension. The most ecologically rich gardens are often the most visually compelling ones too.

Our planting philosophy

Two specialisms. One consistent approach.

Drought-tolerant planting with ornamental grasses and perennials
Drought-tolerant planting

Gardens that thrive when the rain stops.

London summers are getting hotter and drier. We design planting schemes built around species that are genuinely drought-tolerant — Mediterranean herbs, ornamental grasses, deep-rooted perennials, and structural plants that look their best in the heat. These aren't compromise plantings. They're gardens that come into their own in July and August, when less considered schemes are struggling.

Gardens that stand strong through the wet months.

London winters are increasingly wet. Waterlogged soil, persistent damp, and low light test plants hard. We select species with proven resilience — plants that hold their structure through winter, provide interest in the bleakest months, and emerge in spring without having suffered. A garden that looks good in February is a garden that's been properly designed.

What we offer

A complete design service.

Full garden design

A comprehensive design for your entire garden — planting plans, hard landscaping proposals, material specifications, and planting schedules. Everything you need to build and plant your garden with confidence.

Planting design only

If your hard landscaping is already in place, we can design the planting scheme alone — a detailed plan specifying every plant, its position, and the seasonal interest it provides.

Planting refresh

For established gardens that have lost their way. We assess what's worth keeping, what should go, and what new planting will bring the garden back to life — without starting from scratch.

Consultation & advice

A single site visit with Prisca — walking your garden, discussing what's working and what isn't, and leaving you with clear, practical recommendations you can act on yourself.

Selected projects

Gardens we're proud to have planted.

Naturalistic planting design in Stoke Newington

Naturalistic planting

Stoke Newington, North London

A long, narrow rear garden replanted with a naturalistic scheme of grasses, perennials, and native wildflowers. Designed to need almost no intervention once established, and to support pollinators from April through October.

Formal herbaceous border in Chelsea

Formal planting design

Chelsea, West London

A classic herbaceous border redesigned for year-round interest. Drought-tolerant species woven through a formal English framework — beautiful in summer, structural in winter, and genuinely low-maintenance.

Courtyard planting in Islington

Courtyard & terrace planting

Islington, North London

A compact walled courtyard transformed with layered planting in raised beds and containers. Shade-tolerant species chosen for fragrance and seasonal interest — a garden that earns its keep in a small space.

How we work

A thoughtful process from first visit to finished planting.

01

Site visit & survey

We visit your garden and spend time understanding it — soil type, drainage, aspect, existing plants worth keeping, and the way you use the space. We listen before we design.

02

Design & planting plan

We produce a detailed planting plan — every plant specified by name, position, and the role it plays in the scheme. You'll understand exactly what you're getting and why.

03

Sourcing & planting

We source plants from trusted nurseries — prioritising UK-grown, peat-free stock wherever possible. We plant ourselves, or work alongside your landscaper if the build is already underway.

04

Aftercare guidance

Every planting scheme comes with clear aftercare notes — what to do in the first year, what to cut back and when, and how to help the planting establish. We're always available to answer questions.
