Hard landscaping
Built to last. Designed to belong.
From natural stone terraces to bespoke timber structures, we build the bones of your garden with the same care and craft we bring to every plant we place. Every material is chosen for longevity, low environmental impact, and its ability to age beautifully alongside the planting around it.
Hard landscaping that holds a garden together.
A well-designed garden is more than its plants. The terraces, paths, walls, and structures that frame your planting are what give a garden its character — and what make it genuinely usable, season after season.
Before we source a single new material, we ask what can be saved, reused, or repurposed from what's already there. Existing stone, brick, and timber often have more character than anything new — and keeping them in place is always the lowest-carbon choice. Where new materials are needed, we source from suppliers with strong environmental credentials: natural stone with full provenance, FSC-certified timber, and reclaimed materials wherever they're available. Everything we specify is chosen for longevity as much as appearance — because a terrace that lasts fifty years has a far smaller footprint than one replaced every decade.
Our materials philosophy
Reuse first. Source responsibly. Build to last.
Reuse what's there
We always assess what existing materials can be salvaged, repurposed, or incorporated. Old stone, reclaimed brick, and weathered timber carry history — and keeping them out of skips is the most sustainable choice of all.
Source sustainably
When new materials are needed, we work with suppliers who share our values. Natural stone with verified provenance, FSC-certified or reclaimed timber, and locally sourced aggregates wherever possible.
Specify for longevity
We don't specify materials that will need replacing in ten years. Every choice is made with the full lifespan of the garden in mind — because the lowest-carbon build is the one you never have to do again.
What we build
Every element of your garden's structure.
Terraces & Paving
Natural stone, reclaimed materials, and sustainably sourced alternatives laid with precision. We prioritise reusing existing paving where possible — and where we can't, we source stone with full provenance and a long service life.
Paths & Steps
Thoughtful circulation through your garden. From swept gravel paths to stone steps that rise through planting, we design routes that feel as natural as the garden itself — using reclaimed and locally sourced materials wherever we can.
Walls & Boundaries
Reclaimed brick, natural stone, and sustainably sourced timber boundaries that define space without dominating it. We salvage and repoint existing walls before ever considering demolition.
Pergolas & Structures
Bespoke structures built from FSC-certified or reclaimed timber, designed to last decades. We work with skilled craftspeople who share our commitment to quality materials and honest construction.
Raised Beds & Planters
Beautifully built raised beds in reclaimed brick, natural stone, or sustainably sourced hardwood — for kitchen gardens, cutting gardens, or simply bringing planting up to a height where it can be properly enjoyed.
Full Garden Builds
From bare soil to finished garden. We manage the entire build process with a clear sustainability brief — salvaging what can be kept, sourcing responsibly, and building to a standard that means you won't need to do it again.
Before & after
The transformation speaks for itself.
Hackney, East London
A neglected rear garden transformed into a multi-level entertaining space. The original brick was cleaned and repointed rather than replaced; reclaimed York stone was sourced locally for the terrace; and the bespoke oak pergola was built from FSC-certified timber.
How we work
A considered process, from first conversation to finished garden.
Site survey & materials audit
We visit your garden and assess what's already there — what can be salvaged, reused, or repurposed. Existing stone, brick, and structures are always evaluated before anything is removed.
Design & sustainable sourcing
We produce detailed drawings and a clear materials specification. Where new materials are needed, we identify sustainable sources — visiting stone yards and reclamation yards together where helpful.
Build & installation
Our trusted team of craftspeople carry out the work to the highest standard, minimising waste throughout. We manage the build from start to finish, keeping you informed at every stage.
Planting & completion
Hard landscaping and planting are designed together, not as separate afterthoughts. Once the structure is in place, we plant — and your garden begins its life.
